What a great honor it is to be your Americaís 40s.  My goal is to encourage others to champion the causes that they feel most passionate about.  I have had a life-long passion for animals and my plan for the upcoming year is to also work with various organizations to bring more awareness to pet adoption and animal rescue as well as offer low cost spay/neuter programs for people in the community.  I would like to say to everyone, in the words of one of my heroes, Bob Barker, "please help control the pet population, have your pet spayed or neutered.î

I have a true passion for teaching and as an English Professor my aspiration is to not only help my students become more efficient communicators, but to become leaders in their own lives. I was honored to receive the Outstanding Professor Award in 2006 and 2007 along with other recognitions for mentoring and educational leadership over the past nine years.

My husband and I have been married for 11 wonderful years and have several ìFurkidsî including a Yorkshire Terrier and many rescued kitties.  I enjoy scuba/shark diving, dog sledding, visiting historical hotels and traveling with my Yorkie, Monty.
